I probably should have called this page common support programs but we received the same question from several organizations this past week.

Short form of the question: My laptop can't talk to the camera

Fun variations of the question:

• I started a new job and my laptop can't talk to the camera someone handed to me.
• My camera worked great, then I didn't use it for a year and now my laptop can't talk to the camera.

My variation of the question:

• I didn't read all your great documentation, so will you paste it into an email for me?

That's rude and a bit unfair. The documentation was written by someone nerdy with in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking and used by a person who has better things to worry about.

The actual answer is dependent on your specific configuration.
